The end is NOT near

No long treatise today.  I’m bushed but happy, so we’ll get right to the gist and say good day.

Dad’s going to be fine.

The bone marrow biopsy results are in and no abnormalities or concerns popped up.  After three days off the dialysis his creatinine is heading back down to normal.  Even his blood pressure was good today.  The doctors expect to discharge him tomorrow afternoon.

For those of you unaware of the symbol above, it is “chai”, Hebrew for life.  While neither my Dad or I practice the Jewish religion, that is our denomination by heritage and we have both had our respective turns learning Hebrew for our bar mitzvahs.  Therefore, I think it apt to use the symbol most often associated with long life (as in the toast “L’chayim”, or “to life”), since that is what we are celebrating today.

Thanks to all who expressed concern and support.  Dad will begin the healing process and life will return to normal…hopefully for a long time to come.
