I love Valentine’s Day.
Does this seem odd for someone without his own “special someone”? I don’t think so. Or, more accurately, I don’t think I am without a special someone.
I have wonderful memories of Valentine’s Day. For a long time, I would go out with a co-worker (who developed into my best friend) and we would go pick up my Grandma and I would treat both ladies to lunch each Valentine’s Day for almost 10 years. There were many times I would spend Valentine’s Day with my Mom in her flower shop. In later years, after they both had passed, I had the inspiration to dedicate Valentine’s Day where I worked in Mom’s honor (and Grandma’s memory). For more color on those special times, here are two previous blogs to read:
As the years have passed, I have always kept this day special. I consider every person who is part of my life to be precious and I have been blessed with so many wonderful, strong and memorable women along the way.
If no single one of them was my “special someone”, well, that just made all of them equally special to me.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
