I like to think of myself as a patient man, but I am suffering poorly this prolonged delay between the completion and release of the second editions of my books.
Part of it is simply the marketing aspect. After three consecutive month-long giveaways on Goodreads, I am swiftly losing any marketing momentum off those promotions. While I am never flooded with excellent marketing ideas, I have a few that are getting dusty during the interim.
Part of it is because the release of the final book marks the completion of a multi-year journey. I am pleased with the trilogy and proud of what I have accomplished and look forward to being able to crow about it…someday.
Part of it is to see a little revenue come in. It costs some money to keep this website going and mailing out all those giveaway copies wasn’t cheap, either. I do appreciate seeing those checks from my publisher, though they hardly require a separate tax form yet.
So, please, can I get back to selling books?
